GOOD AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES IN TOTAL CROP MANAGEMENT

Programme Outcomes

Good Agricultural Practices play a critical role in the agriculture project's success, especially with the sustainable goal of total crop production. Managing tropical crops is not as easy as it seems; agriculture practitioners are facing several key issues related to implementing good agricultural practices (GAPs), including managing crop rotations to optimise nutrient needs, dealing with pest and disease complexities across different crops, coordinating harvest times, balancing water usage for diverse needs, potential conflicts with crop compatibility, and ensuring proper record-keeping for each individual crop within the system—all while considering potential environmental impacts from diverse chemical inputs and the added labour demands of managing multiple crops simultaneously. This two-day training will explore the alternative solutions to issues faced by agriculture practitioners and strengthen their capabilities in managing multi-crop production sustainably.
