
Aquaculture is the controlled process of cultivating aquatic organisms typically fish or prawns for human consumption which is a similar concept to agriculture. Aquaculture is also referred to as fish farming. Aquaculture can be carried out in most coastal ocean waters, freshwater ponds and rivers, and even on land in tanks. It is estimated that by 2030, 62% (up from the current rate of 50%) of all seafood produced for human consumption will come from aquaculture. Future Food Security course should learn and provided with knowledge and skills in the following: -Method on how cultivate indoor fish and to build a RAS aquaculture system in the trainee’s own property; -knowledge on environment friendly and sustainable aquaculture system (the RAS system) which is recognized by most of the advance countries; -a self-sustainable solution for the participants with increased growth opportunities and quality produces, especially during this post-MCO period
