
With more opportunity in the complex business world globally, more companies are taking the initiatively to expand their market out of their comfort zone as the existing (local) market share are getting less or more competitive, with the liberalization of trade in Malaysia. During the pandemic, a lot of sales volume were converted to online and thanks to Shopee and Lazada which have promoted and enabled on-line purchases including from sources outside of Malaysia. Both the organizations also have made drastic improvements in terms of the delivery transit time resulting in consumers are not concerned with the source of the supplies as is no longer a concern. The market opportunity for our local suppliers in Malaysia are badly affected and if there is not strategic plan to explore outside of the country will result in the deteriorating of sales performance in near future. Apart from selling, larger quantity user also moves their strategic sourcing to suppliers internationally to capture better cost and quality products. Such trend in business will in need of a better and more effective logistics and shipping knowledge and management. Although the cost of Logistics and shipping is only a fraction of the total product costing but with a large volume of transactions, the value involved in logistics and shipping cannot be taken for granted. A lot of hidden costs which are not foreseen by most company and such cost can be the opportunity for the company to reduce or contained. The agility of the whole logistics and shipping process will also ensure better transit time, and this is another important factor for customer satisfaction. The longer the transit time, inventory are involved, and inventory always attract cost to the company. The need for faster processing of related documents are keys to the customs formalities and will help in the clearance of the cargo. The relationship and the effective negotiation with Forwarders may provide the efficient services at a better cost compared to the market price. In view of the challenges in the Logistics and Shipping department for any organization, this training will equip participants with better knowledge and competency to manage the related parties for better cost and faster transit time. Both these factors can differentiate the company from their competitors in view of the customers perception that location of the source is seamless in their purchasing decisions.
