1. Define BIM and explain its purpose and benefits in the context of the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry. 2. Familiarize with BIM software, tools, and standards, including popular platforms such as Autodesk Revit and Bentley Systems. 3. Understand the basic principles and concepts of BIM, including the difference between BIM and traditional 2D drafting. 4. Understand the importance of data management and information sharing in BIM workflows, including the use of databases, data formats, and data exchange standards such as Industry Foundation Classes (IFC). 5. Understand how BIM can facilitate sustainable and energy-efficient building design and construction. 6. Understand the legal and ethical issues surrounding the use of BIM, including intellectual property, liability, and ownership of digital models and data. 7. Understand how BIM can improve project coordination and collaboration among different stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and owners.
