Develop conceptual and detailed designs for ships, ferries, cargo vessels, and offshore structures. Integrate hydrodynamic, structural, propulsion, and stability requirements into vessel designs. Conduct Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to optimise hull shapes for fuel efficiency. Use software to model vessel stability, strength, and manoeuvrability under various sea conditions. Ensure designs comply with International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations, Classification Society standards (e.g., Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas, DNV), and Malaysian Marine Department requirements. Design eco-friendly vessels incorporating LNG propulsion, hybrid systems, or renewable energy solutions. Implement measures to reduce emissions, underwater noise, and fuel consumption. Oversee shipbuilding and retrofitting processes in shipyards. Conduct sea trials to validate vessel performance, safety, and durability. Recommend modifications to improve vessel lifespan and operational efficiency. Support damage assessment and repair planning after accidents. Work with marine engineers, shipbuilders, and regulatory authorities to deliver projects on time and within budget. Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to meet operational requirements.
